About This Blog ~ This blog is about a series of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) super-hero, sci-fi, fantasy adventure novels called Rainbow Arc of Fire. The main characters are imbued with extraordinary abilities. Their exploits are both varied and exciting, from a GLBT and a human perspective. You can follow Greg, Paul, Marina, Joan, William, and Joseph, as well as several others along the way, as they battle extraordinary foes or take on environmental threats all around the globe and even in outer space. You can access synopses of the ten books using the individual links on the upper, left-hand column.

The more recent posts are about events or issues that either are mentioned in one or more books in the series or at least influenced the writing of the series.

6. Harmony Of Spheres

Book Six

HARMONY OF SPHERES was my attempt to give the main characters a serious challenge, send them off, and then have the more important events, what happens back here on Earth, become a significant focus for the book.

One critic did not like what the main characters did after they returned. However, when a major mythological diety tells you that you must do something, you do it. We human beings get taught valuable, and often painful, lessons throughout our existence on this planet. Why should this era not be taught similar, cosmic lessons?

Ironically, events in the book were later paralleled by events in two significant films. There had also been, I found, other books that dealt with these kinds of similar crises. I just wanted to see how my characters would handle this impending disaster, as well as how humanity might behave.

Volume Six was going to be the final volume in the RAINBOW ARC OF FIRE series. It matched Maupin's number of six TALES OF THE CITY volumes, and it completed the stripes, in order, of the Gay Pride Flag: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple. As I said in the very first post, though, my obsession with the series continued. My characters had many more stores to tell, more adventures to participate in. I was far from done.

RAINBOW ARC OF FIRE: THE SERIES:

"The stories are engaging and far from predictable."

-Rex Rivers
Electronic Gay Community Magazine

Electronic Gay Community Magazine was one of the very first online gay publications. The staff loved the series and passed around copies. Unfortunately, the publication disappeared several years ago; and that was a shame. They were based in Topeka, KS.
