About This Blog ~ This blog is about a series of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) super-hero, sci-fi, fantasy adventure novels called Rainbow Arc of Fire. The main characters are imbued with extraordinary abilities. Their exploits are both varied and exciting, from a GLBT and a human perspective. You can follow Greg, Paul, Marina, Joan, William, and Joseph, as well as several others along the way, as they battle extraordinary foes or take on environmental threats all around the globe and even in outer space. You can access synopses of the ten books using the individual links on the upper, left-hand column.

The more recent posts are about events or issues that either are mentioned in one or more books in the series or at least influenced the writing of the series.

Mike & Christie Durr at the 1977 742nd SMS picnic

As I have written before, the Durrs became very good friends after the Schurrs left the Air Force toward the end of my assignment at Minot.  Mike and I played and coached a number of the teams and we spent many hours on courts and on the playing fields for our squadron and for our wing.

That's how you survived, and thrived, in Minot, because of good, good friends.  The Durrs would also end up in Colorado Springs for a few years before Mike left the Air Force to return to Seattle, WA, where he grew up and where his and Debbie's families lived.

We even got together one afternoon in Denver when I lived here and Mike was in Colorado for Boeing Aerospace.  I also visited with him and his boys when they showed up at a Barnes and Noble bookstore in Seattle where I did a books signing for the RAoF series.
