About This Blog ~ This blog is about a series of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) super-hero, sci-fi, fantasy adventure novels called Rainbow Arc of Fire. The main characters are imbued with extraordinary abilities. Their exploits are both varied and exciting, from a GLBT and a human perspective. You can follow Greg, Paul, Marina, Joan, William, and Joseph, as well as several others along the way, as they battle extraordinary foes or take on environmental threats all around the globe and even in outer space. You can access synopses of the ten books using the individual links on the upper, left-hand column.

The more recent posts are about events or issues that either are mentioned in one or more books in the series or at least influenced the writing of the series.

Greg and Mom at Pacific Ocean Park, CA, 1958

Pacific Ocean Park (POP) amusement pier in Santa Monica tried to match Disneyland, though it fell a bit short all the way around. Mom was no longer living with the two woman after she moved out (Ann believes they had an apartment in Downey rather than Pasadena). She was living in an apartment somewhere else. I remember the older apartment building very well but not where it was. Georgann was not there that weekend that mom had custody. Given that POP opened in July 28, 1958, I suspect she took me there soon after it opened.

The top photograph is me in one of the Ocean Skyway bubbles. Passengers headed out over the water, turned around at the end of the pier and returned to the station on the land.
