About This Blog ~ This blog is about a series of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) super-hero, sci-fi, fantasy adventure novels called Rainbow Arc of Fire. The main characters are imbued with extraordinary abilities. Their exploits are both varied and exciting, from a GLBT and a human perspective. You can follow Greg, Paul, Marina, Joan, William, and Joseph, as well as several others along the way, as they battle extraordinary foes or take on environmental threats all around the globe and even in outer space. You can access synopses of the ten books using the individual links on the upper, left-hand column.

The more recent posts are about events or issues that either are mentioned in one or more books in the series or at least influenced the writing of the series.

91st OPS Volleyball, 1975-78, Minot AFB

All three slides are of the first volleyball team 91st OPS fielded when I was at Minot.  Bob Grace, on the far left of the front row, along with the guy next to him, were our two tall players.  Mike Durr recruited me onto the team.  Dave Alexander is wearing the white head band.  Brian Lawler is wearing the glasses in the center of each slide.  Mike Durr and I are in the back.

We would manage to beat Grand Forks AFB missile operations teams when we played them once a year.

We played Grand Forks four times a year:  once each in flag football, basketball, softball, and volleyball were the four major sports.  We'd also play them in minor sports:  tennis, badminton, and more.   We were often more successful in the minor sports than the major ones.
