About This Blog ~ This blog is about a series of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) super-hero, sci-fi, fantasy adventure novels called Rainbow Arc of Fire. The main characters are imbued with extraordinary abilities. Their exploits are both varied and exciting, from a GLBT and a human perspective. You can follow Greg, Paul, Marina, Joan, William, and Joseph, as well as several others along the way, as they battle extraordinary foes or take on environmental threats all around the globe and even in outer space. You can access synopses of the ten books using the individual links on the upper, left-hand column.

The more recent posts are about events or issues that either are mentioned in one or more books in the series or at least influenced the writing of the series.

Greg atop the January snow drift, halfway up the side of the BOQ, January 1975

This is after the drift had receded a bit.  The BOQ is two story.  The tip of the drift reached about half-way up the side of the building.

The snow plows everywhere had to contend with drifts like this that blocked roads all over the base.  One drift just before the housing area was like a ramp of snow.  If anyone was silly enough to try to drive up and over the drift, he'd get stuck atop the drift because the snow dropped off on the far side.  That drop off was not apparent on the up ramp.

Evidence

In your cringing helplessness,
will your buried missilemen,
undisguised in this defense,
be blamed for all the destruction?
Accused and unearthed in capsules
built only to save them
for the time it took to launch?

Gone,
friends, support, the foe,
who will have vanished, doubting their resolve.

Proof could be merely detecting wreckage
to those living enough to care.
If they are trapped, intact, underground,
encased in concrete,
the trace left of us can too clearly show
who was at fault.
